Rajkhowa and Arya Aid
It all started way back in 2017 when Rahul noticed that the floods in Assam weren't getting enough coverage on National Media, so he decided to write a song about the plight of victims. Accompanied by visuals shot by his long term school friend Himangshu Arya, who has shot most of his music videos. The Music Video for 'The Flood' began doing the rounds on social media and earned significant traction after an article by The Indian Express, The Better India and The Rolling Stone. Soon enough donations started pouring in requesting Rahul to take action instead of sending the funds to just another NGO.
Thus Rajkhowa and Arya aid was formed in 2019 with the intent of getting relief to people affected by floods while being completely transparent on how the funds were used. So Himangshu and Rahul began vlogging every aspect of the donation drive right from the time they received the funds, to the shops they bought the groceries from and getting aid to the victims. Even the bills were shared online so the donors may see how exactly their funds were being used. As of 2024, the foundation has helped 2000 families, refurbished 4 schools and built one in rural Assam.
